Q & A!

Q: How many years have you been a Saint Philip student?
A: Four.

Q: If a classmate or teacher were to describe you to someone, what do you think they would say?
A: I think they would say that I am nice, polite, and caring.

Q: What is your favorite SPS memory?
A: My favorite SPS memory is when we had a water balloon fight with the middle school at the end of field day in sixth grade.

Q: What is your favorite hot lunch item (past or present)?
A: Subway.

Q: What was your favorite school field trip?
A: When we rode in a limo to the Body Worlds museum exhibit.

Q: Imagine that upon graduation, you will be granted one superpower for the next four years of high school…what would it be?
A: I would choose to be “all knowing” so I’d be sure to do well in high school.

Q: If you had to be stranded on a deserted island for the next four years, but all human needs-such as food and water-were taken care of, what two things would you want to have with you?
A: I would choose to take a sailboat and a giant box of matches.

Q: What is the most purposeful ‘Cardinal Lesson’ you have learned over the years?
A: The most purposeful Cardinal Lesson I’ve learned is that God will always be by our side with everything we go through and that he will never stop loving us.

Q: Who have been the three most influential people in your life thus far?
A: My father, my mother and God.

Q: Talk about how your time as a Cardinal has impacted your faith walk.
A: Going to SPS has certainly helped me to grow closer to my faith. SPS taught me how to hear God’s voice, live a life of grace with God, and many more amazing things!

Q: How many years have you been a Saint Philip student?
A: Nine.

Q: If a classmate or teacher were to describe you to someone, what do you think they would say?
A: Avery is a kind, loyal friend that always tries her best. She is really good at sports and very athletic. She gets good grades and is friendly to everyone.

Q: If you could take over anyone’s job at SPS, whose would it be and why?
A: I would love to take over Mrs. Daigle’s job. She gets to greet everyone who comes into the school and she is very friendly to everyone. Also, being a secretary requires organizational skills and I like to organize!

Q: Any memorable quote, saying, phrase or greeting from a past or present SPS teacher, administrator or staff member?
A: “Chatty Kathy” – Mrs. Dickinson and “Children, play nicely.” – Mrs. Venter

Q: What is your favorite SPS memory?
A: When we had pet fish and chicks in 2nd grade with Mrs. Pierpaoli.

Q: Imagine that upon graduation, you will be granted one superpower for the next four years of high school…what would it be?
A: Read minds…so that I could see why people do or do not like me! Also I would be able to see answers to tests in other students’ brains and the teacher’s brain.

Q: If you had to be stranded on a deserted island for the next four years, but all human needs-such as food and water-were taken care of, what two things would you want to have with you?
A: An airplane fully fueled to get home and a Bible to read for the ride home.

Q: What is the most purposeful ‘Cardinal Lesson’ you have learned over the years?
A: To always teach the truth, build community, and inspire service. To always turn to God in times of hardship.

Q: Who have been the three most influential people in your life thus far?
A: Hannah, Olivia, and my hockey coaches.

Q: Talk about how your time as a Cardinal has impacted your faith walk.
A: I have learned about all the different virtues and how we can put them into action in our daily lives.

Q: How many years have you been a Saint Philip student?
A: Ten.

Q: If a classmate or teacher were to describe you to someone, what do you think they would say?
A: They might say that I am very confident, I don’t back down, I am competitive and smart.

Q: What is your favorite hot lunch item?
A: Taco Bell.

Q: If you could take over anyone’s job at SPS, whose would it be and why?
A: I would take over Mrs. Senenko’s job as principal because I like to be the one in charge.

Q: Any memorable quote, saying, phrase or greeting from a past or present SPS teacher, administrator or staff member?
A: “Here comes trouble.” – Mrs. Graham

Q: What is your favorite SPS memory?
A: When our school was dedicated to Our Lady of Good Success and we had the procession around campus with the Blessed Sacrament.

Q: Imagine that upon graduation, you will be granted one superpower for the next four years of high school…what would it be?
A: Knowledge because I could ace every subject and fly through high school with the possibility of finishing a year early…so I can have the superpower for a year after high school too!

Q: If you had to be stranded on a deserted island for the next four years, but all human needs-such as food and water-were taken care of, what two things would you want to have with you?
A: A priest and rosaries.

Q: What is the most purposeful ‘Cardinal Lesson’ you have learned over the years?
A: Always try your best and never give up, even if the situation is tough.

Q: Who have been the three most influential people in your life thus far?
A: Father Frank Santilli. Mr. Dennis Sousa. Mr. Noah DaSilva.

Q: Talk about how your time as a Cardinal has impacted your faith walk.
A: Being a student at SPS has allowed me to be a role model in life. For example, when I serve at the First Friday masses for the school, I try to set an example for others to follow. Each day, when school starts with prayer, it really gives me the opportunity to just slow down and thank God and ask for his guidance on my day.

Q: If a classmate or teacher were to describe you to someone, what do you think they would say?
A: Funny, high spirited and athletic.

Q: If you could take over anyone’s job at SPS, whose would it be and why?
A: I would take over Mrs. Senenko’s job as principal because I would have the power to change things.

Q: What is your favorite SPS memory?
A: When the Boys Cross Country team won the 2020 Division Championship!

Q: If you were to return to Saint Philip in 10 years, what would you hope hadn’t changed?
A: The hot lunch choices.

Q: Imagine that upon graduation, you will be granted one superpower for the next four years of high school…what would it be?
A: Super Strength.

Q: What was your favorite school field trip?
A: The Body World Museum.

Q: If you had to be stranded on a deserted island for the next four years, but all human needs-such as food and water-were taken care of, what two things would you want to have with you?
A: Hockey setup (we’ll count that as one) and a boat (to leave after four years).

Q: What is the most purposeful ‘Cardinal Lesson’ you have learned over the years?
A: Think about what you do before you do it.

Q: Who have been the three most influential people in your life thus far?
A: My dad, my mom and my grandmother.

Q: Talk about how your time as a Cardinal has impacted your faith walk.
A: I have become closer with God and I have learned to pray more.

Q: If a classmate or teacher were to describe you to someone, what do you think they would say?
A: They would say I am determined.

Q: If you could take over anyone’s job at SPS, whose would it be and why?
A: I would take over Mrs. Senenko’s job as principal because I like being in charge and I like making people’s lives better.

Q: What is your favorite hot lunch item (past or present)?
A: Taco Bell.

Q: Any memorable quote, saying, phrase, or greeting from a past or present SPS teacher, administrator or staff member?
A: “Children, play nicely.” – Mrs. Venter

Q: What is your favorite SPS memory?
A: In Kindergarten, my mom got a phone call because I was picking staples off of the display boards.

Q: If you were to return to Saint Philip in 10 years, what would you hope hadn’t changed?
A: Father Frank as pastor.

Q: What was your favorite school field trip?
A: Chepachet Farms in 2nd Grade.

Q: If you had to be stranded on a deserted island for the next four years, but all human needs-such as food and water-were taken care of, what two things would you want to have with you?
A: The Bible and a priest.

Q: What is the most purposeful ‘Cardinal Lesson’ you have learned over the years?
A: The teachings behind the virtues.

Q: Who have been the three most influential people in your life thus far?
A: Mr. Kline. Mrs. Walsh. Miss Burt.

Q: Talk about how your time as a Cardinal has impacted your faith walk.
A: Becoming an altar server while at Saint Philip has impacted my faith.

Q:  How many years have you been a Saint Philip student?
A:  Six.

Q:  If a classmate or teacher were to describe you to someone, what do you think they would say?
A:  They would say I am compassionate, loyal and trustworthy.

Q:  If you could take over anyone’s job at SPS, whose would it be and why?
A:  I would take over Mrs. Senenko’s job, because she makes important decisions and gets to be part of every event.

Q:  What is your favorite hot lunch item (past or present)?
A:  Athens Pizza.

Q:  If you were to return to Saint Philip in 10 years, what would you hope hadn’t changed?
A:  The teachers.

Q:  If you had to be stranded on a deserted island for the next four years, but all human needs-such as food and water-were taken care of, what two things would you want to have with you?
A:  A book and a hair brush.

Q:  Imagine that upon graduation, you will be granted one superpower for the next four years of high school…what would it be and why?
A:  Mind Reading!  I would be able to know what people were thinking at all times.

Q:  What is the most purposeful ‘Cardinal Lesson’ you have learned over the years?
A:  I will always remember that everything will eventually end…but God is forever.

Q:  Who have been the three most influential people in your life thus far?
A:  Mrs. Dickinson.  Mrs. Harkness.  Mrs. Catucci.

Q:  Talk about how your time as a Cardinal has impacted your faith walk.
A:  My time at Saint Philip’s has allowed me to grow in my faith.  It has brought me closer to God and has helped me understand Him better.

The Procession of our Blessed Mother

With the entire student body joining together for the first time this year, we so beautifully welcomed the Blessed Mother into our school again. God was surely present for this treasured Procession and we look forward to the blessings of Her grace for the month of May.
